TALKING TO YOUR CHILD ABOUT ADOPTION

The workshop will help parents gain insight into their child’s adoption experience and learn ways to talk to their child about adoption at all stages of development.

Topics will range from telling the child about their birth parents, knowing what information to provide to your child and when, and learning how to create an open atmosphere that promotes healthy conversations about the adoption experience.

There will also be two guest speakers to provide real-life experiences and challenges they have faced from the perspective of an adoptive parent and an adult adoptee.

Free Information Evenings

This session is a first step for those exploring the possibility of adopting. The free evening session has been developed to provide prospective adoptive parents with insight into private and intercountry adoption.  The session will provide information about the adoption process as well as information about our agency.   To register please click on the date/session you would like to attend and you will be redirected to the online registration.

Education Seminars

Adoption Options provides education seminars for those proceeding with an adoption application.

Conceiving Dreams

The 2024 Conceiving Dreams Dinner & Trivia night will be on Saturday October 19th at Canad Inns Polo Park.

The Conceiving Dreams Dinner & Trivia Night is an annual event.  It is an evening of fun where tables compete against each other in a live interactive trivia game.  In addition to the trivia game, evening highlights include a great meal, auctions, 50/50 draw, and a photo booth.

The proceeds from Conceiving Dreams allow AO to focus on increasing public awareness and leads to financial security enabling AO to continue to provide ongoing services to Birthparents, Adoptees and Adoptive Parents.

Tickets: $125.00 ($135 if purchased after October 1, 2024)

Child (12 and under) $50 – ($60 if purchased after October 1, 2024)

The deadline to purchased tickets is October 13, 2024. A tax receipt will be issued to the ticket purchaser after the event for the non meal portion of the ticket price.
