The workshop will help parents gain insight into their child’s adoption experience and learn ways to talk to their child about adoption at all stages of development.
Topics will range from telling the child about their birth parents, knowing what information to provide to your child and when, and learning how to create an open atmosphere that promotes healthy conversations about the adoption experience.
There will also be two guest speakers to provide real-life experiences and challenges they have faced from the perspective of an adoptive parent and an adult adoptee.

Free Information Evenings
This session is the first step for those exploring the possibility of adopting.
The information session has been developed to provide prospective adoptive parents with insight into private and intercountry adoption. The session will also provide information about the adoption process as well as information about our agency. The information session is approximately 2 hours, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Attendance at one of these sessions is mandatory prior to proceeding to the next step in the process.

Conceiving Dreams
Conceiving Dreams Dinner and Trivia Night
The 2024 Conceiving Dreams Dinner & Trivia night was held on Saturday October 19th at Canad Inns Polo Park.
Thank you to all who attended and supported the Adoption Options Conceiving Dreams Dinner & Trivia Night. It was a great success and a fun evening celebrating adoption! As always, we had a lovely dinner at the Canad Inns Polo Park with opportunities to capture memories at the Apple Box Photo Booth. The auctions were filled with wonderful prizes gathered by AO supporters, an amazing Grand Prize with $1000 of WOW! gift certificates, and a 50/50 that awarded the winner $955. The trivia was competitive and fun as our Trivia Master, Michel Roy, entertained us and tables discussed questions in hushed voices and excitedly rushed their answers to the scorer’s table. The touching moments of the night started with our slideshow of families who have been joined through adoption in the last year. The smiling faces of these children and their parents melted our hearts. We were honoured to have three beautiful birthmothers who touched the hearts of attendees as they shared their stories and their desire to promote adoption as a positive option. These birthmothers were integral in our public awareness campaign and they unveiled these images at the dinner, giving insight into the decisions and experiences of birthparents.

The Conceiving Dreams Dinner & Trivia Night is an annual event. The 2025 Conceiving Dreams Dinner will be on Saturday October 25, 2025.
The proceeds from Conceiving Dreams allow AO to focus on increasing public awareness and leads to financial security enabling AO to continue to provide ongoing services to Birthparents, Adoptees and Adoptive Parents.
